48X opens third floor clinics with ribbon-cutting celebration
The third floor of the 48X Complex is officially open. Early Monday morning, employees marked the grand opening of several clinics with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony. Then it was right to work, welcoming the first patients at 9 a.m.
The following clinics are now located on 48X’s third floor:
- Orthopedics & Ortho Pediatrics
- Neurosurgery Clinic
- Transplant Clinic
- Colorectal Surgery Clinic
As one of the largest outpatient surgery centers in the country, 48X was designed as a one-stop-shop for same-day surgery patients.
Relocating these clinics to 48X under the same roof represents a significant step forward in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. Care teams and patients are closer to operating rooms, recovery areas, pharmacy, radiology and more. It’s an exciting opportunity to collaborate in a shared space.
This beautiful environment positions us to continue to provide the innovative, excellent care that we’re so proud of."—Debbie Aizenberg, Chief Physician Executive, UC Davis Medical Group and Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Care
“This beautiful environment positions us to continue to provide the innovative, excellent care that we’re so proud of, and allows our physicians and care teams to do their incredible work every day,” said Debbie Aizenberg, Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Care, at the event. “May this reflect our commitment to our patients and our community.”
The opening and relocation of several clinics to 48X was an extensive and complicated project involving many teams, including clinic operational teams and support from departments like IT, Environmental Services, Clinical Engineering, Plant Operations and Maintenance, Supply Chain, Environmental Health and Safety, and Facilities Planning & Development.
“It’s truly an amazing feat,” said Christina Mintner, Senior Vice President and Associate Chief Operating Officer for Ambulatory Care Services.
The two leaders specifically recognized Sherry Bearden, who managed the project and whose work is not over. On February 9, the fourth-floor clinics are set to open. Much to celebrate!
