Leadership message: 'A milestone care expansion for Folsom'

Dear Colleagues,

More than 16 years ago, when I began practicing at UC Davis Health as an otolaryngologist head and neck surgeon, I was among the first specialists at the Placer Center for Health in Rocklin. I still remember the profound gratitude our patients expressed for receiving care close to home.

There’s something deeply reassuring about having trusted providers in your own community. It’s more than convenience—it’s peace of mind. Like living near family or a lifelong friend, it brings comfort knowing compassionate care is nearby.

Now we have the privilege of expanding that comfort and care to another part of the region. On Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Folsom Medical Care Clinic (MCC) will officially open its doors. At three stories tall and 114,000 square feet, it marks one of the largest ambulatory expansions in UC Davis Health history.

Folsom patients and their families now have access to an extraordinary range of services, including:

  • Internal and family medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Oncology and infusion
  • Orthopedics and sports medicine
  • Cardiology
  • ENT
  • OBGYN
  • Eye care
  • Behavioral health
  • Many more!

With this opening, UC Davis Health will surpass 1 million square feet of new development in 2025, the most ever. It’s a historic moment for us. I hope you feel proud to be part of this effort to expand access to compassionate, convenient, patient-centered care.

A heartfelt thank you to the physicians and staff who have served patients at the Turn Pike Drive location over the years. And to the many teams who worked tirelessly to bring the Folsom MCC to life.

I look forward to seeing you there doing what you do best: putting patients at the center of everything you do, now even closer to home.

Sincerely,

Debbie Aizenberg
