Watch 4 of your co-workers get surprised for their spirit of kindness
Earlier this year, four employees were asked to appear on camera for UC Davis Health’s new Believe in Better campaign. What they didn’t know is they were actually being recognized for their own outstanding kindness, trust and inclusion.
Before the video shoot, their colleagues wrote secret letters sharing why each of them deserved to be featured as an example of our values in action.
“Dear Lou-Anne,” wrote Department of Radiology supervisor Kami Gosal in her letter, “it’s no accident that your team’s morale has skyrocketed. I believe you are one of the biggest reasons for that improvement. The Radiology team is thriving, and you have driven that bus!”
As Lou-Anne Pitzler-Swenson read her surprise letter on camera, she welled with emotion. “That’s really sweet,” she concluded.
Little did she know there was a second surprise in store. Her supervisor Gosal, who was hiding in the next room, popped out to give her a big hug.
“I love you. You’re great. I’m glad to have you on my team,” said Gosal.
Watch the video to see three more stories featuring your colleagues. Patient Clara Sutton recognized her physician and Chief of Pain Medicine David Copenhaver; Associate Chief Nursing Officer Joleen Lonigan nominated Hospital Access Services Supervisor Nicholas D. Andrade; and Department of Dermatology Nurse Ronald Sen nominated his co-worker Nurse Marilu Garcia.
This video was produced in partnership through UC Davis Health’s Believe in Better campaign and the 2024 Living Our Values Tour.
