Bariatric Fashion Show celebrates post-op patients

(SACRAMENTO)

The Bariatric Surgery Program hosted its annual Bariatric Fashion Show on Jan. 30.

The event celebrated the successful transformation of 10 patients who lost weight and improved their overall health in the months following their gastric bypass or vertical sleeve gastrectomy.

Models are patients who are at least one year post operation. Bariatric Surgery staff accompany the patient models to Kohl’s to pick out casual, business and evening attire. They then walk the runway for audience filled with family members, friends and UC Davis Health staff.

All of this year's patients who participated in the fashion show pose together.

“The journey to a healthier lifestyle is not easy and these patients deserve to get pampered and dolled up,” said Angela Salas, senior dietitian and fashion show emcee.

This year’s event marked Bariatric Surgery’s 24th fashion show.
