Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program: how to register

The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program is a proactive solution that allows users who choose to use their personal devices for work-related applications. Users who choose to enroll in the BYOD program will receive several protections and benefits, including enhanced personal privacy on their personal device and licensed software securely provided by the Workspace One Hub Application Catalogue directly on their device.

How to enroll and register your device

While staff are not required to use a personal device for work, those who choose to do so must enroll their personal devices used for work purposes in the BYOD program. Staff who choose to use their own device must:

  • Register their personal devices with a UC Davis Health Mobile Device Security platform via a token they receive from the Technology Operations Center.
  • As part of the enrollment process, you will install the Workspace One Intelligent Hub Application and begin to use the available apps managed via the Hub’s Catalog.

The enrollment process is different by device. Follow the instructions linked below or visit our BYOD Enrollment webpage (must be connected to VPN to access the links). All users who wish to enroll must complete the Mobile Device Security Agreement and submit a BYOD Access Request via ServiceNow.

What applications are available for BYOD users?

There are many applications already in place for iOS and Android users, and UC Davis Health IT plans to offer additional applications for Windows and macOS users in the future.
