Construction activity: Mass excavation and steam vault replacement on 45th Street

On Tuesday, July 16, the California Tower team began mass excavation and replacing a steam vault on 45th Street.

Please note the following details of this activity:

• This activity will make 45th Street one-way. All vehicle traffic will have to exit out Doctors’ Way.
• X Street will become two lanes in each direction.
• This activity will have no effect on pedestrian traffic.
• This activity is anticipated to end in March of 2025.
• Vibration monitors will be installed in potential affected areas.
• Steam vault replacement should last 6 to 9 weeks.
• We anticipate minor vibration and noise; we are currently monitoring both.
