Construction activity: SESP PACU 3, clean supply area and elevator vestibule work

The OR Modernization Project team would like to inform you of upcoming construction activities that will impact PACU 3, the Clean Supply area and the Elevator Vestibule over a series of three consecutive weekends, followed by additional phased work lasting approximately one month.

Please note the following details of these activities:

Weekend 1 (July 26-27)

  • Start: Saturday, July 26, at 1:00 a.m. (barrier setup)

  • Construction Begins: 5:00 a.m.

  • Completion: Sunday, July 27, by 2:00 p.m.

  • Barriers removed and EVS cleaning to follow

Weekend 2 (August 2-3)

  • Start: Saturday, Aug. 2, at 1:00 a.m. (barrier setup)

  • Construction Begins: 5:00 a.m.

  • Completion: Sunday, Aug. 3, by 2:00 p.m.

  • Barriers removed and EVS cleaning to follow

Weekend 3 and Extended Work Period (August 9-September 9)

  • Start: Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1:00 a.m. (barrier setup)

  • Construction Begins: 5:00 a.m.

  • Completion: Work continues through Tuesday, Sept. 9.

  • Barriers removed and EVS cleaning to follow

PACU 3 will be vacated during construction. Access to Clean Supply will remain open to staff with adjusted barrier footprint. The elevator vestibule will be out of service temporarily during containment setup.

Signage will be installed indicating Under Construction, Emergency Exit Only and Construction Personnel Only.

Work includes framing and new ductwork to support the new Telecom room and above the ceiling and nurse station refresh. Barriers will remain in place beyond the August 9th weekend for additional phased work.

PACU 2 will experience the carryover of some noise when we frame the small openings above the doors at two locations into the clean supply room.
