‘Employee Appointment Notice’ created for staff visiting as patients

(SACRAMENTO)

Parking Services has created a new “Employee Appointment Notice” for staff and faculty who may be on campus as a patient or visiting a patient during non-work hours.

To prevent citations, employees will need an active Employee Appointment Notice while parked in patient areas, on personal time.

Vehicles with a current Employee Appointment Notice notify enforcement operations that the owner is on campus for patient-related services or visiting loved ones, not for work. (Please note: Parking Services does not and will not have access to patient data.)

There are two ways to acquire an Employee Appointment Notice:

  1. Automatically (i.e. an employee visiting as a patient): If you have a monthly parking permit and are seeking medical services, the Employee Appointment Notice will locate your parking account and designate your vehicle as visiting for medical purposes. This will occur confidentially when you check in for your appointment.
  2. Manually (i.e. an employee accompanying or visiting a loved one during non-work hours): Order a permit through ucdmc.aimsparking.com with your Kerberos ID and add the license plate of the vehicle you’re using to visit. An in-depth guide to this process can be found here.

Employee Appointment Notices are valid for 2.5 hours, starting 30 minutes before your appointment’s scheduled start time. Staff utilizing the employee appointment notice will be charged the visitor parking rate of $2 per 30 minutes.

Employees are eligible for one manually purchased Medical Appointment Notice per 30 days. If you have additional needs or questions, please get in touch with Parking Services at 916-734-2687.

As a reminder, please do not park in visitor parking while on campus for work. You will be subject to a $64 citation.
