Free monthly well-being activities this September

A range of activities, lasting from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, are available to members of the UC Davis and UC Davis Health community. These complimentary opportunities support well-being and mental health. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities.

Healthy Aging Brain Lecture Series:

Dr. David Johnson will unravel the intricate mechanisms behind healthy brain aging, showcasing how lifestyle choices such as diet, exercise and social support can foster resilience against many of the chronic diseases that plague late life. This is one of three presentations part of the Healthy Brain Aging Lecture Series.

Virtual Physical Activity Challenge: California Coastline

Join folks on the California Coastline Fall Walker Tracker Challenge and learn some history of the towns and cities that call this shoreline home.

Live Online Mindfulness Meditation, Kindness Meditation and Mindful Pause:

Focus on your health and well-being and strengthen your inner resources with science-based mindfulness meditation, kindness meditation, and mindful pause. These sessions will be led by Neesha Patel, Ph.D. of Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being. 

One-time registration will allow how to join the Zoom sessions access to all sessions in each of the series. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email.

ASAP support groups

The Academic and Staff Assistance Program offers several online support group sessions for UC Davis and UC Davis Health community members. Multiple dates are available for each group session. Registration is required.

Coping with grief, loss and change

This discussion/support group provides space for participants to share experiences of grief and loss, review strategies for coping and self-care, and find community.

Dates: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 16 and 30
Time: 4 – 5 p.m. 

Eldercare Support Group

Participants will have the opportunity to share personal experiences with eldercare, learn about resources in the community and obtain guidance on relevant topics.

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 17
Time: noon – 1 p.m.

Support Group for Neurodivergent Staff

This is a caring space for Neurodivergent Staff at UC Davis to share ideas and support each other in utilizing strengths to cultivate – professional effectiveness; emotional well-being; mindful living; and interpersonal understanding. 

Dates: Mondays, Sept. 8 and Sept. 22
Time: 1 – 2:30 p.m.
