Labor Activity Planned for May 1
The University of California has received another strike notice from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union and the University Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE) union. Union leaders are asking their members not to report to work on Thursday, May 1. You can find up-to-date information about negotiations, including UC’s offers on pay and benefits, here for AFSCME and here for UPTE.
Throughout this period of labor activity, our top priority remains our patients. As with past labor activity, we anticipate some challenges, but we do not expect significant disruptions to patient care. Please continue to monitor your email for updates and visit The Insider for additional information and resources (VPN required when off-campus).
We remain hopeful a resolution will be reached soon. Thank you for your continued commitment to our patients, your teams, and the community we serve.
