Let’s be good neighbors: Help keep nearby streets clean
Government and Community Relations is receiving ongoing complaints from nearby neighbors on the Sacramento campus expressing concern about increasing litter in the area. We all share responsibility for properly disposing of trash, especially protective medical gear such as gloves and masks. Waste should be placed in the appropriate bins inside our facilities or in designated receptacles outside — never in the surrounding neighborhoods.
As a public institution, UC Davis Health is expected to model stewardship and respect. When litter is left behind, it gives the impression that we are not caring for the community we serve. We can and should do better.
What you can do
-
Dispose of PPE correctly: Use designated waste bins and ensure items are fully contained so they don’t blow away.
-
Keep sidewalks clean: When moving through nearby neighborhoods, please avoid leaving anything behind.
-
Leave areas better than you found them: A small effort goes a long way.
Why it matters
Our neighbors deserve clean, safe and welcoming streets. By caring for the environment around UC Davis Health, we strengthen trust and reinforce our commitment to the community.
Thank you for helping UC Davis Health be a thoughtful, respectful neighbor.
