Lunch and Learn: Pediatric emergency care collaborative research

(SACRAMENTO)

The Department of Emergency Medicine is hosting a lecture about the history of academic pediatric emergency medicine on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the Medical Education Building, room 1222.

Nathan Kuppermann, Bo Tomas Brofeldt Endowed Chair of Emergency Medicine, will discuss the foundations of developing a research base and the rapid growth in evidence generation and implementation through research networks. This will include the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN).

Kuppermann will examine practice-changing research and the growth of global collaborative pediatric research networks. He will also speculate on the potential future impact of collaborative research on the care of acutely ill and injured children globally.

Please contact David Barnes, co-medical director for Emergency Medicine, at dbarnes@ucdavis.edu for any questions. Lunch will be provided for the first 25 guests.
