More than 40 audiobooks recommended by colleagues for summer listening

A couple of weeks ago, UC Davis Health community members were asked what their favorite audiobooks were – in celebration of Audiobook Appreciation Month in June.
While some may prefer the sensation of holding a book in their hands, a growing population favors listening to audiobooks. According to a recent survey by the Audio Publishers Association, 52 percent of U.S. adults – approximately 149 million Americans – reported listening to an audiobook last year.
Stevie Jepson, library assistant, knows all too well the value of audiobooks.
Jepson said, “In the library realm, audiobooks are an absolute necessity, as they open the world of reading to those who find traditional books inaccessible. At the end of the day, the format doesn't matter as long as people are absorbing the information."
