New Regulated Waste Disposal Guide and updated waste resources now available

(SACRAMENTO)

Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) has updated several regulated waste posters and flyers to reflect the transition to Clean Harbors as UC Davis Health's regulated waste vendor.

EH&S has also created a new Regulated Waste Disposal Guide to help employees quickly identify the correct disposal method for many of the items most frequently identified during waste audits.

Help Waste Find Its Place

Proper waste disposal protects employees, supports regulatory compliance, advances UC Davis Health's sustainability efforts by reducing unnecessary regulated waste, and helps manage disposal costs.

Employees are encouraged to review the new guide and familiarize themselves with the updated resources. Managers and supervisors should also replace any outdated waste disposal posters and flyers in their work areas and remind their teams of proper waste segregation practices.

Updated resources
•    Waste Message #12: Dispose of Personal Care Items in Pharmaceutical Waste Bins (poster and flyer)
•    Waste Message #14: Disposal of Liquid Pharmaceuticals (poster and flyer)
•    Regulated Waste Summary Flyer

New resource
•    Regulated Waste Disposal Guide

Together, we can help create a safer workplace, support environmental sustainability and ensure waste is disposed of correctly across UC Davis Health.

All regulated waste resources are available on the EH&S internal website.
