New resources for those at highest risk for workplace violence
April is Workplace Violence Prevention Month and nowhere is that more important than at healthcare systems where workers are five times more likely to experience workplace violence than those in all other industries.
The UC Davis Health Workplace Violence Prevention Department is charged with managing and mitigating acts or threats of violence by taking proactive measures beforehand and responsive steps afterwards. The team provides education, training, counseling services, incident reporting and comprehensive, holistic follow-up responses to incidents.
As part of Workplace Violence Prevention Month, the department is inviting all staff to attend a virtual presentation and Q&A session on Thursday, April 13 from 12-1 p.m. to learn more about workplace violence and how to prevent it. This event is the first in a series from the department of Employee and Labor Relations, which will offer ‘Office Hours’ each quarter to engage with UC Davis Health staff on various topics.
