Nominations Open: Nursing Excellence & Friends of Nursing Awards
Presented during Nursing Recognition Week (May 6-12), the Nursing Excellence and Friends of Nursing Awards honor staff for their exemplary contribution to our patients, visitors, and staff. Nominate a nurse or non-nursing colleague that has clearly contributed beyond the standard role of expectations. Nominations are accepted March 16-30.

2. Choose the appropriate award: Nursing Excellence Award (nurses) Friends of Nursing Award (non-nursing staff)

Nominees must demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:
- Professional Governance: Leadership and engagement in shared governance, advocacy for professional nursing standards, and advancement of nursing practice.
Exemplary Professional Practice: Clinical expertise, commitment to professional growth, and contributions to evidence-based practice, innovation, research, or performance improvement. - Nursing Care Delivery: Excellence in patient-centered care while practicing in alignment with the California Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Relationships & Teamwork: Promotion of collaboration, relationship-based care, mentoring or precepting colleagues, and fostering a positive and healthy work environment.
- Friends of Nursing Award: Recognizes non-nursing colleagues who demonstrate outstanding support of nurses and nursing care through collaboration, partnership, and contributions that enhance the patient care environment.
