Denise Prudencio, a nursing professional development specialist at the Center for Professional Practice of Nursing, has earned a Distinguished Young Thomasian Alumni Award.

The University of Santo Tomas and the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association Inc. recognized 63 alumni at the 8th Distinguished Thomasian Alumni Awards Night on Nov. 18 at the Thomasian Alumni Center in Manila, Phillipines. The university is the oldest existing university in Asia.

The Young Thomasian Achiever Award recognized Prudencio for demonstrating exceptional achievements and contributions in his field.

“I am thrilled to have been selected as the recipient of this award, especially considering that this year marked the inaugural presentation of the Distinguished Young Thomasian Alumni Award,” Prudencio said.

Prudencio said he is committed to positively impacting the field of nursing and that receiving recognition from the University of Santo Tomas was humbling. He added that while the award is a testament to his dedication and hard work, he also recognized the support and guidance he received along the way.

“I am grateful for the education and experiences that have shaped me into the professional I am today, and I remain committed to contributing meaningfully to our field and community,” he said.

He has received multiple recognitions, including Baltimore Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Award for three consecutive years, the Sunflower Award, and several Daisy Award nominations.
