National Wear Red Day is held annually in February during American Heart Month. The purpose of Wear Red Day is to show support for the awareness of heart disease. Cardiovascular disease specifically is the No. 1 killer of women.
This year, Wear Red Day was held on Friday, Feb. 6
The Heart and Vascular Center staff, along with a variety of leaders such as Haydee Garcia, Jennifer Doll, Delane Mason, Annie Reyes-Salgado, Fabrizio Saraceni, and Marcus Christian donned red to do their part in spreading awareness.
“For our Heart and Vascular Center, Wear Red Day is more than a moment of visibility,” said Haydee Garcia, executive director, Heart & Vascular Center. “It reflects our ongoing commitment to improving women’s heart health through clinical excellence, education, and community partnership. It was inspiring to see colleagues from across departments come together in support of this important work.”
