United States Resiliency Council awards UC Davis Health with platinum recognition

The United States Resiliency Council has awarded UC Davis Health with platinum resiliency recognition for Parking Structure 4 (PS4).
Leaders from UC Davis Health accept the United States Resiliency Council's platinum recognition for PS4.
The designation means that in case of a seismic event, PS4 has the ability to “right-size” itself, limiting damage. In most cases, PS4 will also be able to be reoccupied immediately following the activity.

The award, presented by Clark Pacific, makes UC Davis Health the first university to receive this honor.
Parking structures 5 and 6 will also be receiving recognition.
The recognition comes after UC Davis Health signed the United States Department of Health & Human Services and White House Health Sector Climate pledge two years ago. The pledge asked our organization to complete deliverables to increase our commitment to climate resiliency.
“With this recognition for our parking structures, it’s one more way UC Davis Health strengthens our climate resiliency work” said Kristina Cullen, director of sustainability.
PS4 has also received Parksmart certification, the only program in the world to recognize, measure and define high performing and sustainable garages - similar to LEED certification for green building practices. PS4 is home to the health campus’ largest quantity of electric vehicle charging stations as well.
