Chong Porter

Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Development and Alumni Relations and Campaign Co-Chair

Chong Porter is responsible for enhancing the culture of philanthropy at UC Davis Health and expanding the base of donor support through alumni relations and community engagement.

As the primary fundraising officer for UC Davis Health, Porter oversees the management, planning, and budgeting of the health system’s philanthropic enterprise — including but not limited to fundraising efforts related to student scholarships and financial aid, endowed chairs and professorships, research, patient care, and the physical campus environment.

In her role as campaign co-director, in partnership with Jason Wohlman, senior associate vice chancellor in University Development, Porter is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of the university’s third comprehensive campaign strategy.

She joined UC Davis Health in 2012 with more than 20 years of development experience, most recently as assistant vice president for constituent development and development strategy at the Arizona State University Foundation. She previously served as assistant dean for development for the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU, and as development director for the University of Washington School of Nursing.

Porter received her bachelor’s degree in art from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash., and her master’s degree in education from the University of Washington in Seattle.
