Noel Sousa is the Interim Chief Financial Officer for UC Davis Health. He oversees Financial Planning, Decision Support and Operations, Health Information Management, Patient Access and Financial Services, Facilities Planning and Development, and Financial and Business Management for the schools of health.
Sousa has more than 25 years of experience helping to lead UC Davis Health's financial reporting and provides experienced continuity in our financial systems and capital planning. In his most recent role as Associate Chief Financial Officer, he has been responsible for the annual budget for the UC Davis Medical Center, School of Medicine, and School of Nursing. He has also overseen the development of the organization’s strategic financial plan, including the 10-year capital investment of more than $7 billion, which is building new facilities for our patients, employees, and students.
Sousa joined UC Davis Health in 1997 and has held various management roles within the Finance Division. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives and an adjunct professor at CSU Sacramento, teaching classes for the MBA program in Healthcare Finance. He is also a graduate of the UC Davis Executive Leadership program, the UC Davis Health Leadership program, and the Coro Leadership program. He also has an HFMA Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) certificate.
