Support Groups and Family Advocacy

Fostering a Community of Acceptance, Inclusion, and Empowerment

CEDD helps people with developmental disabilities and their families learn how to speak up for their rights and create a community where everyone is included and respected.

CEDD has projects that include Latino, African-American, Asian, Arabic and other communities. Our staff and faculty work with community leaders and organizations to encourage acceptance of disabilities and the importance of early support.

These CEDD projects include support groups, networking, training, and website resources to:

  • Help people with developmental disabilities and their families learn how to talk to their doctors, teachers, and other people about their needs.
  • Help people with developmental disabilities and their families find resources in their community.
  • Help people with developmental disabilities and their families advocate for policies that support people with disabilities.
