The Department of Medical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine takes on the responsibility of pathology education and provides various courses and training programs to high school and young college students, medical students, and post graduate doctors. The department is in charge of teaching the pathology courses for the School of Medicine. The department also provides well-established training programs, including a combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program, subspecialty Fellowship Programs, and Clinical Laboratory Scientist Trainning Program. Other education activities include Grand Rounds, Highman Symposium, Stowell Lectureship, Vogt Lectureship, and other continue education courses. The Hugh Edmondson Summer Research Internship Program extends the education and unique research opportunity for motivated college students who have demonstrated a strong interest in research in the health sciences.
