Fellow clinical responsibilities increase throughout the program through graded independence with faculty oversight throughout. Fellow experiences range from consultations on the inpatient service to continuity of care in our outpatient environment.

Our multidisciplinary clinics in neuro-oncology, adolescent-young adult diabetes transition, gender dysphoria and disorders of sexual development combine the clinical abilities of multiple specialty providers to enhance patient care and enrich the fellow’s clinical exposure. Our pioneering efforts in telemedicine allow us to serve patients from distant counties throughout California and further afield. Fellows achieve the core competencies of compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care, state of the art medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice.
