Center for Simulation and Education Enhancement
The Center for Simulation and Education Enhancement allows residents an opportunity to practice procedures and mock codes in a supportive, simulated environment.
Procedure Labs
Incoming interns have a chance to practice procedures such as PIV placement, LP, intubation, IO, and umbilical catheter placement before starting their clinical rotations.
Residents have the opportunity to continue practicing procedures throughout residency.
Mock Codes
Residents have multiple opportunities to practice their clinical critical thinking skills in a safe, simulated environment.
- Pediatric ED: Weekly mock codes in the Emergency Department
- Pediatric ICU: Weekly mock codes in the ICU
- NICU/Newborn nursery: Monthly neonatal resuscitation simulations and skills labs
- PICU: Monthly simulations of commonly encountered clinical scenarios
