Kashfi Khan

Hi guys! My name is Kashfi. I was born in Lubbock, Texas (a place that often leaves people guessing) but soon moved to what I consider my real hometown, Aurora, Colorado. I completed my bachelors degree in Biochemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder. I then completed my Pharm.D. at the University of North Carolina, where I discovered my passion for ambulatory care! My clinical interests include primary care, geriatrics, substance use disorder, and transplant. I love that UC Davis provides a supportive yet challenging environment for me to grow as a clinical pharmacist. Being a part of an academic medical center has allowed me to collaborate with other professionals in an interdisciplinary team. Beyond the realm of pharmacy, you can find me watching Love Island, Gilmore Girls, or crime documentaries, indulging in Trader Joes goodies, or trying out new restaurants with my co-residents!

Alexandra Kuo

Hi! I'm Alex Kuo and am from Seattle, Washington. I went to the University of Washington where I majored in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medical Anthropology and Global Health and loved my time SO MUCH that I had to stay for Grade 20 and complete my pharmacy school education there. My clinical interests include critical care and infectious disease. I am most grateful for my coresidents and preceptors for creating a close-knit community despite our large class size and many learners. Outside of pharmacy life, I'll be spreading joy with my co-residents, wrangling pets, building IKEA furniture, biking to work, or running (to catch a bus).

Anitha Ramadoss

Hi! My name is Anitha Ramadoss. I was born and raised in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Tucson, Arizona after graduating high school and attended the University of Arizona for my pre-requisite courses and pharmacy school. I'm excited to be exploring California during my residency here at UC Davis! My current clinical interests include Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. I love the layered learning model here at an academic medical center and getting to be a part of such a large cohort of diverse and fun-loving residents. Outside of the pharmacy world, you can find me at an indoor cycling class, or exploring happy hours and trivia with my co-residents!

Bethany Pan

Hiya! My name is Bethany Pan. I was born and raised in Yorba Linda, California, one of those towns where I get to say, "I live close to Disneyland". I studied pharmaceutical chemistry and minored in physiology at UC Davis. I missed home and decided to earn my Pharm.D. at USC, but I couldn't get enough of UC Davis. I love being a part of interdisciplinary care and being challenged to grow my clinical knowledge, which is what drew me to an academic medical center. But what I love about UC Davis are the kind, welcoming people - preceptors, my co-residents, patients, and staff - who make residency not feel like work. Outside of the hospital, you can find me cooking, baking, binging a random TV show, or hanging out with my co-residents. I am so excited to be back now as a pharmacy resident and to grow as a clinician!

Chano Dominguez

Hi, my name is Chano Dominguez. I grew up in Cornelius, Oregon, located in the Portland metropolitan area. I moved to Corvallis, Oregon, to complete my Undergraduate degree, MBA degree, and first two years of Pharmacy School at Oregon State University before moving back home to finish Pharmacy School at Oregon Health and Science University. Go Beavs! My clinical interests include Investigational Drugs and Research and Oncology. I initially considered the UC Davis residency program because, like my family, it was large in size. What I hadn't considered was that, like my family, I would feel strongly supported and cared for by my co-residents and preceptors. This program has given me the best learning opportunities I could ever ask for while challenging me to seek more. Outside of the Medical Center, I enjoy spending time with my co-residents, my roommates, and I decompress by going on long runs. Other hobbies include playing golf, watching sports, and trying new foods.

Gisoo Imani

Hi, everyone! My name is Gisoo Imani. I was born in Iran, and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah (home to the greatest snow on earth!). I obtained my Bachelor of Science in psychology and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Utah (GO UTES!). My clinical area of interest includes hematology and oncology. My passion for this specialty stems from the significant impact pharmacists can make in the optimization and safety of complex cancer therapies and most importantly the strength and unwavering hope I have observed in this patient population which inspires me to help and support them as they pursue treatment. This year, I look forward to continuing to refine existing and gain new clinical skills and grow both personally and professionally as I serve the population of Sacramento here at UC Davis. In my free time, I love trying out new brunch spots and coffee shops, hiking, exploring Norcal with my co-residents, watching reality shows and horror movies, and eating excessive amounts of chocolate!

Jaccie Hisashima

I am Jaccie (JC)! I was born on Maui and raised on a pineapple farm. My love for travel brought me all the way to the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy (2+4 program) where I froze. I completed the global health area and pharmacotherapy scholars area of concentration, where I got to learn about underserved and international healthcare while cultivating my clinical and patient care skills. Aside from it being much warmer in Sacramento, my favorite part of residency thus far is meeting all of the amazing preceptors who push me to be a better pharmacist. I am also inspired by my amazing coresidents – this experience would not be the same without them. Outside of residency I enjoy playing tennis, pickleball, and finding new spots to swim in. As I am writing this, I just completed my first backpacking trip, and am excited to do another soon!

Hi, my name is Matthew Louie! I grew up in Cupertino, California, then left to study biochemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle. I came back to the Bay Area to complete my Pharm.D. at the University of California, San Francisco. My clinical interests include cardiology and internal medicine. I have really enjoyed the supportive learning environment within UC Davis Medical Center and appreciate the opportunity to work with other professional learners and precept pharmacy students. I also love the large cohort we have, which has made the transition into residency easier, and led to plenty of fun experiences outside of work! Outside of the hospital, I enjoy playing video games, going out for boba, and playing in a volleyball league with other pharmacists.

Gelina Sani

My name is Gelina Sani, but everyone calls me Gigi. I was born in Bethlehem, PA and raised in Nazareth, PA. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in philosophy from Slippery Rock University (where we sometimes called it Snow and Rain University). After undergrad, I worked at Children's National Medical Center in a Cellular Therapy Lab. I received my Pharm.D. from the University of Georgia and am now in Sacramento for the next leg of my journey. My clinical interests include stem cell transplant and infectious diseases. I'm excited to continue to cultivate my skills as a new pharmacist and to start to refine my approach towards clinically grey areas. I'm incredibly grateful to be here with my co-residents (a truly special group) and precepted by so many field experts. In my free time, I enjoy adventuring with my dogs, cooking, biking places, and brainstorming house projects with my partner. I also enjoy reading and completing whatever art project I've most recently started.

Investigational Drug and Research PGY2 Resident and Residency Program Director (Left to Right): Kaycey Pearce, Pharm.D. and Jennifer Murphy, Pharm.D., BCOP (RPD)

Residency Director: Jennifer Murphy, Pharm.D., B.C.O.P.

Kaycey Pearce

Hi! My name is Kaycey. I grew up in Ontario, CA, which had extreme weather without any water element, so I was very eager to move west. The main reason I moved west was to attend UCLA where I earned a B.S. in physiological sciences. After graduating, I stayed with UCLA for many years as a researcher in Brain Research, specializing in learning and memory. I got my Pharm.D. at USC, a great rival of UCLA, and received much heat from both institutions as I am a sports fan of basketball and football. I love binge-watching Korean drama, specifically in a horizontal position while eating dried squid and drinking non-diet Coke on my days off. I am happily married and reside in Santa Monica with a bunny and a kitty. Completed my PGY-1 in acute care here at UC Davis Health and staying for PGY-2 in Investigational Drug and Research because the best part of my residency was my peers who all stayed here for a job or PGY-2 and the solid program provided nowhere else. I look forward to spending another wonderful year in Sacramento.

I studied general biology, minored in chemistry and neurobiology, and earned my Pharm.D. at the University of Washington. I am honored to be the first to join the new combined PGY-1/2 Medication-Use Safety and Policy (MUSP) residency program. I have always been passionate about problem-solving, project management, and quality improvement projects, so I pursued this combined two-year program in med safety! My PGY-1 year focuses on clinical rotations, similar to an acute care residency, so I can expand my clinical knowledge and better understand the operation side of the academic setting. My favorite part of residency has been getting to know my co-residents and spending time with them. Outside of pharmacy, I love traveling to new places, finding cute cafes, and binge-watching Netflix shows. I am excited to be at UC Davis Health with amazing mentors to complete my PGY-1 year and continue my journey next year.

Hi everyone! My name is Catherine, and I'm from Fresno, California. Despite my low tolerance for hot weather I stayed in Fresno to complete my B.S. in Biochemistry at Fresno State, then moved to the Bay Area to obtain my Pharm.D. at UCSF. In my free time I love hiking, reading, trying new foods, and baking (and sharing my baked goods with others so I don't gain all the weight!). I had the wonderful opportunity to complete my APPE rotations as well as my PGY-1 acute care residency at UC Davis, where I not only learned from incredibly supportive and passionate clinicians, but also found my passion for medication safety. I am excited to continue my journey at UC Davis as the PGY-2 Medication-Use Safety and Policy resident and can't wait for the opportunities this year has to offer!

Cody Angerman

Hey everyone! My name is Cody Angerman, and I’m from Placerville, CA. I earned my Pharm.D. from UCSF and completed the PGY-1 Acute Care Residency Program here at UC Davis Health. What I loved most about UC Davis were the amazing preceptors, patients, and the diverse clinical experiences all wrapped up in a progressive and supportive health system. I couldn’t be more excited to remain here for my PGY-2 residency! Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy skiing, spending days at the lake with friends, trying new restaurants, and video games!

Hanna Yakubi

Hi! My name is Hanna Yakubi. I was born and raised in Fremont, California, a once-small town about 25 minutes east of San Francisco. I graduated with my B.S. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at UC Davis in 2016 and completed my Pharm.D. at UCSF in 2021. After pharmacy school, I decided to explore the East Coast and completed my PGY1 acute care residency at the Inova Fairfax Medical Center in Northern VA, about 15 minutes south of Washington DC. I am really excited to be back in California and part of the UC Davis family again! During my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball and hanging out with my 2 cats.

Stepfanie Lam

Hi everyone! My name is Stepfanie Lam, and I was born near Sacramento, CA but grew up in the Bay Area. I graduated with my B.S. in Microbiology and Cell Sciences at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and later earned my Pharm.D. from UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. I completed my PGY-1 Acute Care residency at UC Davis Health, and I loved it so much, I decided to stay on a second year as one of their PGY-2 Oncology residents. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, exploring the many coffee shops and farmers markets in Sacramento, and taking care of my plants. UC Davis Health is a program I could see myself growing with and would provide me the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population. I love working alongside their incredible team!

Yumena Kawasaki

Hi, I’m Yumena Kawasaki and I am from San Francisco, CA. I completed my pre-pharmacy studies at Hawaii Pacific University, attended Pacific University School of Pharmacy for my Pharm.D., and completed my PGY1 in Acute Care at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Beyond the world of pharmacy, I like exploring coffee shops, going on hikes, and embarking on adventures to far-off destinations! I am excited to join the UC Davis pharmacy team and train under the guidance of dedicated and driven oncology pharmacists. I look forward to expanding my oncology pharmacy knowledge and contributing to the incredible work being done here.

Mitchell Tam

Hello! My name is Mitchell Tam and I was born in San Francisco and raised in the city. I studied cellular biology and chemistry in undergrad at UC Davis before working in biotech for a couple years. After I got my fill of the industry side of things, I attended UCSF for pharmacy school and completed my PGY1 at the County of Santa Clara Health Systems. I've had a passion for pediatrics since my time as pharmacy student and have sought opportunities to learn more about this special population. I love the challenge of working in the grey area of pharmacy when evaluating studies and determining therapy regimens for our kiddos. Outside of pharmacy, I love going to concerts and musicals, finding new bakeries, and traveling! Please send me all your food recs!

Ryan Whalen

Hi, my name is Ryan Whalen and I was born in Eugene, Oregon (the same town as the University of Oregon). I studied biology and Latin American history in undergrad and following graduation worked at a community hospital as a pharmacy technician. During my time as a pharmacy tech, I worked in a pediatric satellite mixing IV medications and experienced first-hand the integral role pharmacists played within a pediatric patient's medical team. This sparked my drive to pursue a career in pediatric pharmacy. When not working in the pharmacy I enjoy watching sports, going to trivia or finding new shows to binge watch!
