2024-25 Residents
Required Application Materials

All applications must be submitted via PhORCAS and include:

  • Letter of intent
  • Transcript from School of Pharmacy
  • HSPAL candidates only: Transcript from Undergraduate University
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Three letters of recommendation (LORs)
  • Supplemental short essay (PGY1 programs only)

Residency Program Accreditation & Directory

Please direct application materials (via PhORCAS) to the respective program

January 2, 2026, 11:59 p.m. EST (8:59 p.m. PST) for all UC Davis Health PGY1 Residency Program Candidates.

For all PGY2 Residency Programs Candidates, please refer to each program’s specifications on the corresponding ASHP Directory listing.

  • PGY1 programs: June 22, 2026 – June 30, 2027
  • PGY2 programs: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
  • Combined PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL: July 22, 2026 – June 30, 2028
  • All applicants must be registered to participate in the ASHP Residency Match Program.
  • An interview is required (by invitation only).
  • The applicant shall be licensed in California or be eligible to take the California State Board Exam within the first month of residency.
  • UC Davis Health follows the AAMC guidelines regarding H-1B sponsorship and does not support the H-1B visa for international pharmacy graduates. In addition, UC Davis Health does not accept H-1B visa transfers.
  • PGY-2 Program eligibility is contingent on certification of completion of PGY-1 residency.

  • All applicants must be registered to participate in the ASHP Residency Match Program.
  • An interview is required (by invitation only).
  • Residents must have an active American Heart Association BLS provider certification at start date.
  • If the applicant is not a licensed pharmacist in the State of CA before the start of the residency program, the resident must be registered as a current California Intern Pharmacist.
  • Incoming PGY2 residents must have an active pharmacist license in one of the 50 United States prior at the time of the residency program start date.
  • UC Davis Health follows the AAMC guidelines regarding H-1B sponsorship and does not support the H-1B visa for international pharmacy graduates. In addition, UC Davis Health does not accept H-1B visa transfers.
  • PGY-2 Program eligibility is contingent on certification of completion of PGY-1 residency which must provided within 30 days of start date.

Employment is contingent upon employee health clearance, drug screening and a background check.

Please expect to spend a full day with us for your interview.

Please expect to arrive by 5 PM the evening before for a dinner with program leadership.

PGY2 residency program interviews will be scheduled by the individual program. Please reach out to the respective program’s RPD for details.
