Practice Philosophy:
Dr. Crandall is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, patient-centered pharmaceutical care to pediatric patients and their families. She believes that the best way to learn is to ask “why,” and this is evident through her personal practice and teaching.

Bio:
Dr. Amy Crandall is a board-certified pediatric pharmacotherapy specialist and serves as a Staff Pharmacist at UC Davis Health. Dr. Crandall began her pharmacy career at UCDH in 2015 after graduating summa cum laude from pharmacy school. At Butler University, she was recognized as one of the Top 10 Women in 2013 and received the TEVA Pharmaceuticals USA Award in 2015. She went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency at UCDH, where she was named PGY2 Resident of the Year in 2017

Following completion of her training, Dr. Crandall accepted a position with UCDH in pediatric pharmacy. Her primary clinical areas are general pediatrics, pediatric gastroenterology and nephrology, and pediatric hematology and oncology. She remains integrally involved in the pediatric residency, through precepting, mentoring, and assisting in administrative activities. Dr. Crandall frequency precepts first year pharmacy residents and serves as a mentor. She also precepts fourth year pharmacy students and maintains a volunteer faculty position as an assistant professor with the University of San Francisco, College of Pharmacy. In 2019 she was awarded an Apple for Preceptor award by the UCSF graduating pharmacy students at UC Davis Health.
