Pharmacists are equipped with valuable drug knowledge that can be applied in many different corners of the ambulatory care setting. As someone who works with high-cost medications, I serve as a patient advocate—ensuring therapies are safe and sustainable, providing education to improve understanding and adherence, and facilitating care and follow up as part of the patient’s healthcare team.

  • Multidisciplinary Clinics, Solid Organ Transplant (PGY1, PGY2, and APPE)

Bio:
Dr. Truong is a new practitioner in our specialty pharmacy department. She graduated cum laude from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Glendale campus and completed her PGY1 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at UCDH where she received diverse training in Primary Care and Specialty Pharmacy. After completion of residency in June 2020, she was hired on as our first Specialty Float pharmacist and supported clinical services in multiple areas including Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, and Solid Organ Transplant. While she currently still supports multiple areas, she will soon be transitioning into a new position focused on serving the Gastroenterology (inflammatory bowel diseases) and Rheumatology population and helping to expand these clinical services full time.
