Bio:
Dr. Lewis earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from UCSF in 2009 and took a position with the California Poison Control System (CPCS) – Sacramento Division as a Toxicology Management Specialist in 2010.
Dr. Lewis joined the UCSF volunteer clinical faculty in 2011 and is currently a Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Pharmacy. He precepts UCSF APPE students who take the Poison Control / Toxicology rotation as well as UCD Medicine students, and UOP Pharmacy students. He has lectured at state and national conferences to audiences of physicians, pharmacists and nurses. He has 7 peer reviewed publications, several book chapters and has developed many clinical guidelines for CPCS.
In 2013, he transitioned to an administrative position at CPCS – Sacramento Division where he serves as the Director. Dr. Lewis precepts the Poison Control / Toxicology Rotation for Pharmacy Practice Residents, helps train UCD Medical Toxicology Fellows, and applies his academic and clinical background to providing care for poisoned patients across California. For the 2017 – 2018 year Dr. Lewis was awarded the Residency Preceptor of the Year.
