Practice Philosophy:
The patient is and should be the primary benefit of the pharmacy team’s actions. As a pharmacist, we should focus our actions on ensuring the patient achieves their goals in medication therapy. Our actions are not just the act of dispensing medications but it also includes the attitudes we exude, the skills and knowledge we obtain, our ethics and commitments we stand by and our ability to share knowledge whether it be with the patient, prescriber, coworkers or students.

Bio:
Dr. Chin earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific in 2009 and continued her pharmacy career in the retail setting at Rite Aid in Sacramento. After managing as Pharmacist-In-Charge for three years, she became the Pharmacy Manager of Clinical Operations at EnvisionRxOptions ensuring plan members received their annual comprehensive medication reviews, the plan maximized their CMS Star Ratings and prior authorizations were developed and processed appropriately.
In 2014, Dr. Chin joined the Department of Pharmacy Services at UCD Health as an Outpatient per diem pharmacist and in 2015 became the Pharmacist-In-Charge of Cypress Pharmacy. As the supervisor, Dr. Chin not only oversees operations on a daily basis but also guides and develops her staff, which consists of dispensing pharmacists and technicians and the technician team in Solid Organ Transplant.
Dr. Chin was a key collaborator in obtaining and maintaining our URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation for Cypress Pharmacy, Comprehensive Cancer Center Pharmacy and our Specialty Pharmacy Hub at UCD Health. She is a member of the UCD Specialty Pharmacy Quality Management Committee who is charged with ensuring that we meet industry standards and provide value in delivering our specialized clinical services. In 2019, Dr. Chin became a Certified Specialty Pharmacist and has been a student and residency preceptor at UCD Health for the past 6 years.
