Practice Philosophy:
I am a believer in experiential learning—in the field of oncology, we rely on prior experience to incorporate new clinical information into therapy plans. A clinical team that embraces effective communication is important in implementing new treatments for our patients. At the core of the field is a patient population that has been diagnosed with an illness that impacts all aspects of life. Consideration of access to care, home support, and palliative care must be given to each patient. I aim to grow as a well-rounded clinician that is able to assist in all aspects of patient care.

Bio:
Dr. Michael Wright is an oncology pharmacist with the infusion center at UC Davis Health. His pharmacy career began in undergrad at UCLA, where he spent his weekends coordinating medication delivery for the hospital’s pharmacy department. Following completion of his Oncology PGY2 program, he accepted a position with the infusion center at the UC Davis Health Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is an active member of the Oncology Subcommittee, through which he contributed to the development of the Chemotherapy Desensitization Work Group.

Dr. Wright enjoys working with learners—his personal experience developing as a pharmacist at UCD enables him to serve as resource for both clinical and research-related topics.
