Practice Philosophy:
As a clinician, my goal is to optimize the efficacy and safety of evidence-based medication therapy for adult medicine patients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. As an educator, I strive to help learners achieve their goals while challenging them to develop critical thinking skills for patient care and pharmacotherapy assessment. As a lifelong learner, I am committed to pursuing ongoing professional development, implementing continual process improvement, and actively engaging with ongoing research.

Bio:
Dr. Rachelle Barry is a board-certified clinical pharmacist in Internal Medicine working primarily with the UC Davis Health Hospital Medicine Faculty Service. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of California, San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018, during which time she was awarded the ASHP Student Leadership Award and CSHP Student Leadership in Health-System Practice Award. She completed her PGY-1 Acute Care and PGY-2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residencies at the University of California, San Diego Health, where she developed a passion for optimizing pharmacologic therapy in adult medicine patients with complex conditions and backgrounds within the acute care setting. She also developed strong interests in leadership, teaching, and project management.

Following completion of her PGY-2 residency, she accepted a position at UC Davis Health to help expand the inpatient pharmacist scope within adult medicine, specifically developing service line pharmacist roles in collaboration with the Hospital Medicine Faculty Service. She greatly enjoys working with learners and has helped create pharmacy student and resident rotations in adult medicine practice settings at UC Davis Health. Dr. Barry currently sits on the UC Davis Health Clinical Practice Council and University of California Health Transitions of Care Collaborative Committee.
