In addition, I believe the pharmacist is the one professional who can link all the fragmented aspects of healthcare. We are patient advocates, professional educators, and provide unique support for complex patients.

Bio:
Dr. Cutler earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from UCSF in 2000 and completed a residency in pharmacy practice at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in 2001.
Dr. Cutler joined the UCSF faculty in 2004 and is currently a Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Pharmacy. Dr. Cutler has also worked as a critical care pharmacist, ambulatory care pharmacist and a long-term care consultant. He is a graduate of the faculty scholar’s program in the Northern California Geriatric Education Center, serves on the UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing Graduate Group, and is enrolled in the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy. He has lectured at state and national conferences to audiences of physicians, pharmacists and nurses, and was a visiting Professor at the Kobe Gakuin Pharmaceutical University in 2011 and 2015. He received the Albert Prescott Leadership Award from the Pharmacy Leadership and Education Institute in 2011 and held the Divine Family Endowed Chair in Clinical Pharmacy between 2014 and 2017 at UCSF. From 2008-2017, he was the Director of the Sacramento Experiential Program. There, he devoted much of his time to the fourth year pharmacy students placed at the UC Davis Medical Center and throughout Sacramento and developed primary care clinics at UCDH. He has 16 peer reviewed publications, several book chapters and has developed many continuing education programs.
In 2017, he transitioned to an administrative position at the UC Davis Medical Center where he is the Supervisor for the Anticoagulation Clinic, Controlled Substance Stewardship Program, and Primary Care. He is currently serving as the Interim Assistant Chief for Ambulatory Care Services for UCDH where he also supervises the Transition in Care Team and Specialty Pharmacy groups. Dr. Cutler precepts the Family Medicine Rotation and applies his academic background to expand clinical services in primary care.
