Philosophy of Care

My purpose is to help you get to your health goals and I strive to foster a cooperative and non-judgmental relationship. As a family practice doctor, I enjoy providing care to the whole person from infants to the elderly; and as a primary care doctor I understand my role to be your "health team leader" to ensure coordination of care.

I emphasize preventive care, good eating, and physical activities as the cornerstones to good health; and I feel laughter is the best medicine. In chronic disease management, medicine is equal parts listening, teaching, and coaching. I want my patients to actively participate in all decisions pertaining to their health care. I understand that overtreatment is just as hazard as undertreatment, and that an attentive ear is often more appropriate than an extra pill.

I am very happy to work with the UC Davis health care network for it's foundation in primary care and availability of specialty care.
