Advanced Mechanical Ventilation

This is an advanced course in mechanical ventilation for experienced critical care nurses and respiratory therapists. The class content includes common and uncommon ventilator modes, in depth waveform analysis, assessing ventilator asynchronies with remedies, and ventilator equipment overview/troubleshooting.

This course is intended for critical care nurses and respiratory therapists who work with mechanically ventilated patients on a daily basis. This course is restricted to RTs and critical care nurses working in MSICU Blue, MSICU Gold, MICU, SICU, CTICU, NSICU, Burn ICU, PICU, PACU and PCR ICU RNs.

Prerequisite

RNs must have completed a Mechanical Ventilation Principles and Patient Management class.

Attire

Please dress in hospital scrubs or clinical work attire and bring a stethoscope as participants will work hands-on with a human patient simulator.

Continuing Education Contact Hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 7.75 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

Parking
