PICU Training Program, Day 1

The PICU Training Program is for nurses newer to the PICU environment. This including new graduate nurses to nurses with <5 years of experience or adult nurses who care for critically ill children in adult ICUs at UC Davis Medical Center. This class is part one of a five day series. You must register for each session individually if you want to attend subsequent sessions. This course provides participants with a review of in-depth pathophysiology, evidence-based care, and skills through simulation-based scenarios relating to caring for critically ill children. The content for day one includes: vasoactive medications in pediatric critical care, pediatric sepsis/septic shock, chest x-ray interpretation, mechanical ventilation in pediatrics, Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

This class is only open to UC Davis Health employees for PICU RNs, Children's Hospital Critical Care Transport Team, PCR Pediatric Critical Care RNs, and Adult ICU RNs.

Continuing Education Contact Hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 6.5 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
