Education Development Series: Part 2 - Developing an Engaging Course | Center for Professional Practice of Nursing | UC Davis Health

Education Development Series: Part 2 - Developing an Engaging Course

Thoughtful planning provides the foundation, but course development brings the learning experience to life. Building on Part 1, this course focuses on transforming an educational plan into an engaging, accessible, and evidence-based learning experience. Education Development Series: Part 2 – Developing an Engaging Course is the second course in a three-part series that guides participants through the educational development process, from planning and course development through implementation and evaluation.

In Part 2, participants will learn how to select an appropriate delivery method, develop and organize relevant, evidence-based content, apply adult learning principles, incorporate strategies for learner engagement, promote accessibility, and prepare a learning environment that supports learner success. Through interactive activities and continued application of the healthcare-based case study introduced in Part 1, participants will make course development decisions and see how thoughtful preparation supports meaningful learning and application to practice.

This course is designed for anyone involved in planning, developing, or providing education and builds upon the foundational concepts introduced in Part 1: Planning an Effective Course.

This course is only open to UC Davis Health employees.
