Philosophy of Care
Dr. Nearing's philosophy of care begins with good patient communication. She strives to be a good listener and compassionate with her patients concerns. She aims to be thorough and accurate and communicates her findings clearly with her patients. She supports preventative medicine and the philosophy that early intervention is crtical.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Nearing is a comprehensive Optometrist with special interest in ocular disease.
She spends the majority of her time performing screening eye exams for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and side effects from high risk medications. She enjoys collaborating with other UC Davis physicians to provide a team approach to her patients healthcare. She is involved in the tele-retinal diabetic screening program. She also performs routine eye exams and fits a variety of soft contact lenses.
