Philosophy of Care
I strive to partner with patients and families in their unique eye health journey. Trust, empathy, and professionalism are my top priorities in each doctor-patient relationship. I approach every patient with a desire to understand his/her individual goals of care and to provide relevant clinical education, in order to empower patients to make informed decisions about their care. \
Clinical Interests
Dr. Chen is a glaucoma specialist with expertise in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma in adults and children. She has special clinical focus in primary open-angle glaucoma, narrow angles, and glaucoma subtypes including pseudoexfoliation, uveitic, and others. She specializes in glaucoma laser and incisional surgeries, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), and cataract surgery.
Research/Academic Interests
Dr. Chen's research focuses on factors affecting surgical outcomes of various glaucoma procedures, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) and traditional filtering surgery. She also has interest in optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging to understand anatomic mechanisms in glaucoma.
