UC Davis Health cardiology team members are among the first in the country to treat patients with tricuspid regurgitation using a new minimally invasive catheter, the Abbott TriClip™ system. UC Davis Medical Center is one of the first sites nationwide to have commercial access to TriClip and is the first hospital in the Western United States to utilize the system since it was approved by the FDA in April.
In a study published in the Journal of Vascular Surgery, UC Davis Health researchers have harnessed powerful AI technology to show how abdominal aortic aneurysms can grow faster in women and may require more rigorous surveillance. Misty Humphries, M.D., interim chief of vascular surgery, and senior author of the study, plans to gather more data with her team to influence existing clinical guidelines.
A new clinical trial at UC Davis Health will evaluate a novel technology to assess adult patients for non-obstructive Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). The trial will compare data from two departments using the CADScor System, an advanced acoustic-based diagnostic aid, as well as traditional stress tests. UC Davis Health’s trial is the first in the U.S. to collect real-world data from the CADScor System.
