UC Davis Medical Center is the first hospital in California to use the new Canon Aquilion ONE / INSIGHT Edition computed tomography (CT) scanner and the first in the U.S. with a commercial system installed for advanced cardiovascular CT scans. This innovative new system provides enhanced cardiac imaging and reduced radiation exposure to patients.

A $4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health has funded a new study that will use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to better predict people at risk for progression of atrial fibrillation.

Novel Heart Valve Repair with Newly Approved Device
UC Davis Health cardiology team members are among the first in the country to treat patients with tricuspid regurgitation using a new minimally invasive catheter, the Abbott TriClip™ system. UC Davis Medical Center is one of the first sites nationwide to have commercial access to TriClip and is the first hospital in the Western United States to utilize the system since it was approved by the FDA in April.
