Remote Monitoring Catches a Hidden Heart Problem

A UC Davis Health patient enrolled in the Remote Patient Monitoring program for high blood pressure benefited from close monitoring that helped identify a serious underlying heart condition. His story highlights how our remote monitoring and nurse triage teams work together to review home blood pressure readings, intervene quickly, and help prevent medical emergencies.

New Clinical Trial for High-Risk Heart Patients

UC Davis Health is among the first sites in the nation to offer the SUPPORT II Pivotal Study, a clinical trial evaluating the investigational Supira System for patients undergoing high-risk, complex coronary artery stenting procedures. The study is assessing a low-profile percutaneous ventricular assist device (pVAD) that provides temporary hemodynamic support during high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention.

Developing AI Model to Assess Surgical Technical Skills

Vascular surgery resident and surgical simulation fellow Keenan Gibson received a grant from the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery to develop a computer vision-based artificial intelligence system for assessing surgical technical skills. The model is intended to provide standardized, objective and actionable feedback to surgical trainees by analyzing simulated or recorded procedures.
