Bring the beat! UC Davis Pride March seeks musical volunteers

(SACRAMENTO)
UC Davis Marching Band performs during pre-event at the 2024 Sacramento Pride March.

Every year, the Sacramento Pride March is one of UC Davis Health’s most joyful and high-energy community moments, and music has always played a significant role in that celebration. While we’re incredibly grateful for their past performances, we’ve learned that the UC Davis Marching Band will be unavailable for this year’s march.

But the show must go on — and we’re hoping to keep the spirit alive in a new way!

We’re calling on our musically talented employees, family, friends and allies to help us bring rhythm and energy to this year’s UC Davis contingent. Whether you play trumpet, tambourine, saxophone, or snare drum—or just like to keep a beat—we’d love for you to help make the march fun, lively, and full of joy.

There is no need to be perfectly in sync or performance-ready—the goal is connection and celebration. If we get enough interest, we’ll even host some casual practice sessions ahead of time to help folks feel confident and ready to shine.

If you’re interested, please email hs-hedi@ucdavis.edu and complete this survey by Tuesday, June 3. Let us know what instrument you play and if you want to join the fun. This is your chance to help uplift the crowd, show off your skills, and be part of something unforgettable.

Let’s keep the music going and remind everyone that we all belong at UC Davis and UC Davis Health.
