Celebrating YOU during this season of gratitude
Dear Colleagues,
As Thanksgiving approaches, let me offer my thanks to every one of you in our UC Davis Health caregiving community. Whether you deliver exceptional patient care, push the boundaries of scientific discovery, educate the next generation of health professionals and leaders, or offer comfort and compassion to those who rely on us, you embody the very best of who we are.
Thanks to your dedication, UC Davis Health is a cornerstone of community well-being in Northern California – recognized nationally for excellence, innovation, and the humanity we all bring to our work. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement ensure that our patients not only receive high-quality care but also feel supported throughout their journeys.
This spirit of collaboration shines across our teams and it is a major reason we are consistently honored as a model national workplace. I am deeply thankful to you for making our culture unique and extraordinary.
The poet Maya Angelou wrote, “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” As I reflect on this season of gratitude, her words ring especially true.
Many of us will spend the upcoming holidays caring for our shared patients; please know that your service makes a profound difference in their lives and the lives of their families and our communities. My gratitude extends to your family members and friends who will be sacrificing time with you as you selflessly serve others.
I wish you all a warm, joyful, and peaceful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be grateful for – and I am especially thankful for all of you.
Stay well,
Bruce Lee Hall, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S.
Interim Vice Chancellor for Human Health Sciences
Chief Clinical Officer, UC Davis Health
