Construction notification: Traffic modifications at 48th St. between 2nd Ave. and X St.
(SACRAMENTO)
Friday, Jan. 23, through the end of March 2026, the CUPx team will implement traffic control modifications to the north and southbound lanes at 48th Street between 2nd Avenue and X Street to perform underground utility work for the next phase, Phase 4, of the California Tower Offsite Utility Loop. Traffic delays expected.
During the timeframe above, the CUPx team will be making the following modifications:

Southbound one-way traffic remains on 48th Street, between X and Y Streets, by use of the northbound (nearest 48X Complex) lanes.

Northbound lanes on 48th Street (nearest ACC), south of Y Street will be closed and two-way traffic occurs in southbound lanes (near Betty Irene Moore Hall).

Flaggers will be in place at 2nd Avenue, X, Y, and 48th Street.
