‘Employee Welcome Permit’ developed in response to employee feedback

(SACRAMENTO)

New employees joining the UC Davis Health campus are now eligible to receive a complimentary 'Employee Welcome Permit.' This permit facilitates hassle-free parking for pre-employment visits, including health screenings, background checks, and other essential activities. Valid for up to 7 calendar days from the first work day, it grants access to any Employee 'B' parking space at the Medical Center, giving employees time to determine their commute and parking needs once they begin work.

The concept of this permit originated from the feedback gathered during quarterly new hire breakfasts hosted by UC Davis Medical Center Administration, where leadership actively sought suggestions for improvements. Responding to several reports of new hires receiving parking tickets in their first week, the parking permits swiftly evolved into a valuable resource available to all new employees via recruitment services.
