EVS project manager reflects on journey from housing insecurity to leadership and advocacy

(SACRAMENTO)

Years before setting her sights on becoming the next Executive Director of Environmental Services at UC Davis Health, Julianna Moore experienced housing insecurity while working to rebuild stability for herself and her children. During that time, she connected with Saint John’s Program for Real Change, a local non-profit where she accessed support and resources.

“They provided me with all the tools, the resources, the comfort, the support I needed to remind myself of who I am and what I’m capable of,” Moore explains.

Today, Moore is an EVS Project Manager and Interim Procurement Manager in the Environmental Services Department. She also serves on the Saint John’s alumni board and brings her experience into her work each day.

“Julianna shows up every day with focus, accountability, and genuine pride in her work,” says Amy Panoushek, her manager in Environmental Services. “She is dependable, dedicated, and consistently follows through on her responsibilities. Julianna takes full ownership of her role, maintains a positive attitude, and contributes meaningfully to the success of our team and the delivery of a clean, safe environment that supports patient care.”

“I'm so grateful,” Moore says. "I have a great career. I have great kids. I have stable pay in California as a single mom… [all] because of the opportunities that Saint John's and UC Davis have provided me.”
