Flu Information Hub: Get your vaccine in October, ahead of the Nov. 1 deadline

As flu season approaches, getting vaccinated helps reduce the risk of serious illness and hospitalization, especially for people who are already vulnerable. To help protect yourself and the communities we support, free flu vaccines for UC Davis Health employees will be available beginning Oct. 1.
What’s required
A medical grade/surgical mask is required after Nov. 1 for those who decline flu vaccination.
All UC Davis Health employees must meet the annual flu vaccination requirement by Nov. 1. Employees can receive their flu vaccine:
Through OEHC or an employee flu vaccine clinic
Through their department, if it participates in the Department Self-Administration Program (DSAP)
As a patient through a UC Davis Health provider or pharmacy
Through an outside provider or pharmacy, with documentation submitted through MyUCDavisHealth (MyChart)
Employees who choose not to receive the flu vaccine must submit a declination through MyUCDavisHealth. Those who decline are required to wear a medical-grade surgical mask at all times while working from Nov. 1 through the end of flu season.
Managers are responsible for monitoring compliance through the Immunization Tracker. Non-compliant employees will be addressed in coordination with Employee and Labor Relations after the Nov. 1 deadline.

A UC Davis Health badge is required to receive your vaccine at these clinics, so be sure to bring it with you.

Beginning Oct. 1: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., closed for university holidays.
Walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is required. Employees who prefer an appointment can call 916-734-3572.

Both standard flu vaccine and high-dose flu vaccine, recommended for adults age 65 and older, will be available.

Please note: Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing students and the UC Davis main campus employees working on the Sacramento Campus must receive their flu vaccination through a third party (Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, etc.) or their primary care physician.
New this year: Vaccinations administered through DSAP will be documented directly in Epic. Employees no longer need to complete a paper consent form or submit their vaccination record after receiving the vaccine. No additional action is required.
New this year: Vaccinations received through UC Davis Health are automatically documented. They are no longer considered elsewhere vaccination records, and employees do not need to upload proof of vaccination. No additional action is required.
Received your vaccination elsewhere?
Those who receive their vaccine at an external primary care provider, or a third-party providers are still required to submit documentation to be in compliance with policy.
If you receive your flu vaccine somewhere other than OEHC, DSAP or UC Davis Health, such as an outside pharmacy or your personal health care provider, you must submit your vaccination record through MyUCDavisHealth (MyChart) beginning Oct. 1.
All active UC Davis Health employees will receive a message through MyUCDavisHealth (MyChart) on Oct. 1 with flu season information and a questionnaire for submitting elsewhere records or a declination.
Employees should make sure their MyUCDavisHealth account is activated and notifications are enabled before Oct. 1.
Managers will continue to monitor employee compliance through the Immunization Tracker. Download, print and post the informational flyer in break rooms or share it with your teams.
New this year: The Immunization Tracker is read-only. Managers no longer need to enter vaccination information because vaccinations administered through UC Davis Health employee vaccination programs are documented in Epic.
Compliance status may take approximately 72 hours to update following vaccination, approval of an outside vaccination record or submission of a declination.
Managers who need Immunization Tracker access can submit an access request through the Manager Resources section of the OEHC Flu Hub.
Employees must meet the flu vaccination requirement by Nov. 1.

Managers will work with Employee and Labor Relations to address employees who remain non-compliant after the deadline.
