Did you know we have eight Employee Resource Groups at UC Davis Health?
Employee Resource Groups – ERGs for short – are voluntary, employee-led groups made up of individuals who come together for a common goal or cause surrounding efforts supportive of gender, race, ability, equity and more. Some health system ERGs have been around for over a decade, whereas others only a few years. No matter how seasoned or novel an ERG may be, all succeed in creating a community of belonging.
Throughout the year, resource groups host various meetings and activities.
Matthew St.Amant, program manager of culture and community for the Office for Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, believes in the power of building community.
St.Amant said, "Employees and by extension Employee Resource Groups are vital to our organization's success – building community, empowering identities, and fostering cultural awareness. There’s work to do, but together, we always Believe in Better."
