Employee Resource Groups
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are open to anyone regardless of background who wish to support, participate, or be educated in the many cultures and communities at UC Davis Health.
Membership and participation in Employee Resource Group activities are not dependent on race, ethnicity, sex, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any protected category under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
About
Mission
The shared mission of the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) is to raise awareness of career development, networking, mentorship opportunities, and resources available for their respective community members. The ERGs also act as collaborative units and advocate for concerns and issues at the University and Community level for staff, faculty, residents, and students.
Guiding Principles
- Develop community and cultivate a sense of belonging through sponsoring and supporting events.
- Promote awareness, general welfare, and interest of each ERG’s respective community.
- Support upward mobility through professional development and mentorship programs.
The Office for Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (HEDI) provides guidance and oversight to ensure ERG strategies align and are integrated with the university’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals. HEDI also supports the ERGs through ongoing funding and providing administrative support.
Leadership within each ERG consists of:
- Chair
- Vice Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Communications/Events Director
Members constitute the foundation of the ERG and attend meetings and offer support through volunteerism throughout the year.
- Principles of Community activities.
- Heritage month celebrations – Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Pride, National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Veterans Day, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, etc.
- Friendsgiving.
- Speaker series and mixers.
- Community fundraisers and scholarships.
