Cool photo alert!
UC Davis Health team members invited to submit their best pics
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Regardless whether that's true, we’ve seen that images featured on The Insider seem to be worth a thousand clicks or more!
We’ve heard you loud and clear: You appreciate a great photo when you see one. So, we’ve developed a photo gallery page to showcase awesome pictures from around campus or featuring UC Davis Health employees, faculty and students. We’ll feature images from our resident photographer, Wayne Tilcock, and we also want to share some photos you have taken.
Have you captured an image worth sharing organization-wide? One you think your colleagues would enjoy, a picture worth celebrating, or an image showcasing how special your team, favorite humans, or animals are? Or you simply want to show off your UC Davis Health pride.
Well, lucky for you, we’ve created a venue!
Internal Communications invites UC Davis Health team members to share their recent favorite photos. The photo gallery page aims to showcase a more personal touch among our health community and highlight moments that bring us (and others) joy and gratitude or make us laugh.
Here’s how to be considered for a future feature on the Insider
- Attach a high-resolution photo and email it to HS-InternalCommunications@ucdavis.edu.
- In a few words, tell us what the picture is about. For example, did you take a solo or family trip and perfectly capture the moment? Or did you volunteer at a local nonprofit event you want to highlight? Did your pet make a cute face, and it warmed your heart? Were you with your team members on campus at a special event? Describe the scene and why you want it featured on The Insider.
- Confirm that anyone in the photo consents to having their picture published online—nonverbal cues from your pet suffice, too. To be respectful of everyone, please make sure any humans included in the photo are “okay” with their picture being published online. Also, ensure that if it is a picture on campus, no patients or identifiable patient information is displayed anywhere in the picture.
If you have questions about the photo feature, please contact Internal Communications at HS-internalcommunications@ucdavis.edu.

Description: "When I need to reset, I create. I have always wanted to work on a wooden boat and was approached with this unique and unusual request. The rowboat has been in our friends' family for 60-plus years and was in need of refurbishment. This was the result of three long months of work. I was able to color match the cornflower yellow paint." (Brian adds, "The boat acknowledges that it is OK with its photo being published.")
